Not playing in the street is a sacrifice?! LMAO!

Fuck airports for not letting children play on the tarmac!

    😂

When kids don’t have any other places to go? Yes I’d say it’s a sacrifice. There’s no reason for quiet suburban streets to have speeds as high as 50km/h, which can kill kids if they get hit, especially by oversized american trucks and SUVs.

Kids have plenty of places to play. Stop making shit up so you can feel like you’re making a point. It’s fucking stupid to think kids should be playing in streets!

Ffs. You people are entirely out of arguments to make if this is a hill even worth fighting over.

kids have plenty of places to play

Like where? Where’s the nearest public access park or football pitch or playground that a kid can wander into any time of day to play with their friends?

No. LMAO! I don’t. I don’t even want to do the pre-stretching workout before attempting the mental gymnastics required to connect those dots.

Kids shouldn’t play in streets because of traffic. For there to be no traffic, there’s would need to be no cars. If there are no cars, there’s be no need for streets for them to play in. If there were no streets for kids to play in, you’d probably whine about that and find a way to blame some other dumb shit for the lack of stress for kids to play in.

And before tighter and say this is the point…. Bullshit. That isn’t even remotely what this ridiculous meme is saying. It’s a pure example of not thinking before you assume you have a point.

Streets existed way before cars so if anything, there shouldn’t be car traffic because of kids playing in the streets

You really have a problem with cause and effect. I can tell. And that’s too much for me to tackle to be honest. I don’t want to have to explain how conversational nuance works just to talk this out, so- let’s pretend you know what is even being discussed and simply agree to disagree.

I wasn’t quite expecting you to just come out and admit it but thank you for your honesty. Saves the rest of us a lot of time in trying to decide whether you should be taken seriously

Whats your opinion on the other 12 Points? I myself only know a few activities where it would be needed to be on the street (like streethockey or inlineskating or something) and get your point. It seems to me like you read like the first sentance in a list that raises good points in my opinion.

Kids would actually play in quiet neighborhood streets or cul-de-sacs and the like. Drivers would drive slower because they knew kids would be playing, and kids would all get out of the way when one of them heard or saw a car.

      “Street Hockey” was a thing.

I’m not sure exactly why, but it’s not really a thing anymore. Seems like there are more cars and the quiet neighbourhood streets are more likely to be considered “shortcuts” these days. And where I live, there’s little traffic enforcement, so rather than driving the speed limit (or less in areas where kids might be playing), people are happily speeding while playing with screens and devices in their cars.

There are a lot of reasons, but more cars on the road making playing on the road less viable is definitely a factor

Again, playing on roads shouldn’t be a thing. There is a reason why cars aren’t allowed to drive through playgrounds.

            Fucking common sense.

Cars don’t drive through playgrounds because that would be dangerous for the playground equipment and the children and adults in there.

So kids playing on roads shouldn’t be a thing because kids are dangerous to cars and the road infrastructure?

              That’s not a good analogy.

You’re the one who came up with a bad analogy. It’s not you though. I’m sure you could come up with a better one if you were making a more sensible argument, though.
