The ECU in my 1991 Chevy k2500 is little more than a desk calculator that can turn throttle position into injector duty cycle and ignition timing. Good luck advertising companies.

OBD1 sucks, though. 1995 through 2010-ish (i.e. OBD2 but no telemetry) is much better.
