    I don’t think you can quite claim that having a pipe of explosive gas hooked up to your house is the same level of risk as having a toaster

      Well I was just talking about air quality, but if we want to talk about fire safety, the stats may surprise you.

      In the U.S., where I live, electrical malfunctions cause about 3 times as many fires as flammable gases.

      Now, not every house has gas lines, so the denominator might be different, so it’s probably not 3x the risk, but I think you’d have to do more analysis before you could conclude that gas lines are more dangerous than electrical lines.
