    At the time, most home computers were still 16-bit.

    The N64 released in 1996. Mac System 7 released in 1991 with 32-bit support. It took until Windows 95 for the first consumer 32-bit version of Windows.

      Pfft. You say that like anyone needed more than 64k of addressable memory. Chrome wasn’t released for another 13 years after Win95.
