Doesn’t really seem to offer anything that I don’t already get from Trilium, and with the disadvantage of being vibe coded.

    I’ll pass.

It has many features beyond what Trilium (which is a primarily note-taking app) offers, such as: finance tracking, inventory management, goals & tasks with linking and priority, workout & habits logging, and especially reminders and alarms: trillium has no official mobile app, only the PWA, which can’t access android alarm permissions. These are out of the top of my head.

But Trillium has more features regarding notetaking specifically, of course, some of which I intend to implement in the future. But yeah, is older and battle-tested, so I understand your decision.

The advantage of Trillium is the scripting ability, it can actually do all the things you just mentioned, as well as anything else you want to spend an hour or two programming, and it can do it precisely the way you wish.

Sure, but “you can script it yourself” is a very different value proposition from the software actually providing the feature. By that standard, any sufficiently extensible application can “do” almost anything. And Ontoplano itself goes into that category, since it comes with a REST API and webhooks, making it easily scriptable too.

i’ve seen go web apps be way more memory efficient than some python native apps. but i’d agree using javascript and probably csr is not very nice.

I wanted it to work in multiple OS and platforms, a web app is ideal for that. Also, vibe coding lean native apps doesn’t scale as well as using a framework like Svelte, which I have used since the pre-AI era and am comfortable reviewing what the AI does.

How did you get this? Bugs are expected, it’s fairly new software that hasn’t been tested by many people besides me.

I clicked the demo. Maybe you need to take a year or two to polish it before trying to be a software developer.

I thought you’d be a reasonable person, my apologies for making naive assumptions when I asked my question.

Everyone is being a dick, but I actually did the demo and while it does feel vibe coded its not sloppy when its up. A few hours ago it was doing what the other user reported too but now it is up. The demo introduction feels polished, honestly I dont use these apps so there is never a time I’ll find them interesting. But for what its worth I tried adding and organizing a few events and it worked. If it was coded using local AI I’d mention that, but if not then you’re never going to have a good time with AI and Lemmy. Not for bad reason either.

Yeah, this is my second post here, so I was already expecting this reaction TBH. Still, I do think my app provides value, so I am willing to sail through the sea of AI-hate.

I’m not even an AI lover; I wish it didn’t existed, but it does, and here we are. As of now, with the current token prices, it is simply much more efficient (by orders of magnitude) than tradcoding, so companies are not gonna waste time and money on ideology: will be really hard to not be a vibecoder and still have a job.

i actually been trying a few productivity apps or whatever and i kind of have issues with how they handle your stuff. this approach is really nice, since it encompasses a lot of stuff so i really like it. i’m going to try it out better to understand the ux a bit more and how everything works. thanks a lot!

Thank you! I am really trying to build something good and useful here, I started making this for myself 7 months ago and worked really hard in the last months to improve it.

      Any feedback is appreciated :)

You can just not use the MCP server, it works through scoped tokens that you’d have to create yourself.
