- spyware is when they take data from you that you didn’t want to give
- adware is when they give data to you that you didn’t want to have
- bloatware is when the software’s just in the way, making the whole system slow, sluggish and inefficient
summarily these can be called crapware


nowhere, it’s a lost cause. if your disk is encrypted, nuke it and restore from a backup. it’s just a nuisance (assuming you made enough backups) and interrupts your daily workflow. therefore it’s bloatware.
The purpose of ransomware is get the money you don’t want to give. Doesn’t always work that way, but that caveat applies to the other categories as well. What actually ends up happening IRL shouldn’t be included in this classification. The original intent matters more. Therefore, the mechanism is similar to spyware, but the goal is to get your money instead of your data.
Eh, I’d said ransomware is a different category altogether, it’s denying you access to your data.
