I voted for Nader in 2000 who ran on a platform of getting corporate money out of government.
After 8 years of being mad at Clinton for defunding welfare, NAFTA and bombing folks (though still thankful we weren’t in the nightmare of the Gulf War,) I felt the difference between Gore and Bush JR wasn’t enough and I needed to let the corporate Democrats know they need to work for my vote.
I also thought there was no way Bush would get elected 'cause he was obviously dumb as a brick, and his daddy was a nightmare that oversaw Iran/contra affair and the failure that was Gulf War. Gore ran on maintaining the balanced budget and was concerned about global warming
