I’ll be watching him closely, but I don’t feel that confident in him. He surely says a lot of right things, but his practice has been lacking. There’s some weight to the ones claiming that what he’s doing is entryism and oportunism, since he left the ML org he helped found. After he left, that org decided to support a Trot in the presidential election, so perhaps he wasn’t entirely wrong in leaving, but still. He is, simply put, not organized. He promised to find a suitable org after the elections, but he virtually got elected as an “independent”.
I think that’s part of the problem. He has clearly dedicated his life to the study of theory, and he’s always kept himself close to the working class. He’s a great agitator. He has good insight based on dialectical materialism. But, at the same time, he allegedly can’t submit himself to democratic centralism.
When PCB expelled him and so many others, I share the perspective that PCB was in the wrong. And now, PCBR chose a line of denouncing Lula and his liberalism, and he decided to go against party decision. He did so for in this particular election cycle he had a real shot of getting himself elected. So he put himself above his party and left to join a ragtag team of socdems and trotskysts, who demanded he supported Lula in the first turn of the election.
Was PCBR an unhealthy org? Probably, given that the follow-up decision to denouncing Lula was to support (another) trotskyst party, one that celebrated the dissolution of the USSR in the 90s. Whether this means his decision of giving up disputing the party line was correct remains to be understood. But now he’s in a real awkward place: There’s no communist organisation in Brazil that wants the most successful agitator of recent times as one of its cadres.
UP/PCR are an old party, going back to the 70s, surviving the execution of most of its CC. They wouldn’t welcome a cadre they didn’t forge themselves, especially considering the level of party discipline they’ve managed to enforce. PCB wouldn’t have him back. He just left PCBR for disagreeing with the CC decisions. PCdoB is full socdem revisionist with absolutely no revolutionary praxis. PSTU is trotskyst, PCO is nazbol. So, in order to fulfill his promise of joining an org after election day, which one is he going to try to join? Is he gonna found a new one?
Not a senator, he is elected to the lower house.

Hmm to me he seems like a person who has a lot of theoretical knowledge, but just doesn’t know how to effectively organise
