Is it fixable if i leave it in a bunch of clean water to diffuse out or something
Or is there an “antidote”, what is Soap’s bane?
- stainless steel

What is the tea strainer made of? Stainless steel, glass, or ceramic shouldn’t hold onto soap or grease in that way, but silicone or plastic might, since they are porous…
You could try a vinegar bath, the acidity may cut through the greasyness.
Hot water usually rinses soap well the hotter the better. Try boiling it for a few minutes and then rising?
Good idea, I was rinsing it with only normal warm water so that would seem to be a shakeup in strategy
Try boiling it? Hard to really know what it’s gummy with… but you can kinda go down the line; if not heat then maybe a solvent.
So a lesson I learned recently - dishwasher detergent (the cheap powder) works very well for cleaning things where the bubbles of dish soap are problematic.
Things like jars, bottles, etc. It’s also good for anything where rinsing is a problem, as it’s designed to rinse easily.
I’ve soaked window screens, box fan grates and blades, etc, and they rinse right off with little effort for me.
It’s my new universal cleaner.
Credit goes to Technology Connections - he pointed out the dishwasher is sort of a universal cleaner, and it got me to thinking about using the detergent.
It may help in this case since it rinses cleanly.
