    StoneToss is a well known nazi. Calling that out is neither a rant nor a generic insult.

      To be fair their comment was “FUCK STONETOSS, RACIST PIECE OF SHIT”, which, while true, isn’t going to win you much support. The other comment just saying “Stonetoss is a Nazi” is still there.

              You and I know that context. It’s not present in the post, and a casual reader, including the mod, might not (even if the mod was acting in bad faith in other ways).

                Its lemmy, the likelihood of someone not knowing stonetoss is a nazi pos is pretty damn low to start… and with multiple people making the same comment… a “casual reader mod” should spend more than a few moments and think “I wonder if stonetoss is just a horrific nazi! Oh look, the wikipedia starts that way!”

                I don’t think we need to be polite about nazis. Why is this somehow controversial to you? I don’t get it.

                  It’s not labeled “Stonetoss” anywhere, and that OP is a repost bot so I don’t think they’re really even looking at the post. So the comment probably just looks like someone spewing profanity.
