It’s almost like languages are related.
“The end” would be “slutet”. “Slut” is just “end”.
And it could also be “stop” or “stop it”.
Something like 80% of Swedish / Norwegian / Danish is mutually understandable between the languages so a Swedish and Danish speaker can easily have a normal conversation entirely in their own languages and be understood perfectly well.
In Swedish and I dont understand Danish at all. Norwegian is ok, I can understand parts of it. But Danish is super different. However, the Danish seems to understand Swedish much easier.
The problem with danish is they don’t know how to speak and they just eat half the sounds. Written danish is a lot more understandable than spoken
Ah yeah maybe that’s true. I haven’t seen written Danish at all.

Fwiw, the translation is not correct
That is not really a word in any Scandinavian language though.
Toss Seattle on that image:

Fart slut is better
Never trust a fart
In German it’s “Schluss”. Obviously related but not funny, sorry.
You did good. That was perfect German humor.
A coworker of mine from Brazil was visiting another coworker of mine in Sweden. I saw the screenshot of the snap he sent while on the train:
“Yeah, of course this is where you live…”. Pictured was a photo of the train information sign saying “StopName (slutstation)”.I’ll leave it as an exercise for the (non-scandinavian) readers to interpret what “Slutstation” actually means.
Slutstation means end station so it’s pretty common to see that word. :)
Terminal?
North Germanic language family moment.
No not “the end” just “end”

Now i know why Trump is pissed at Norway. They won’t fuck with him, and he thinks they’re sluts.
Wut?
I gather it’s a language joke, slut (or something like it) means end or ending or something like that in those languages.
Correct, variations are the Dutch “slot” (a bit archaic though) and German “Schluss”.
