This is why you need a fridge that is connected to the Internet. Same with all other household appliances.
It’s the best way to support the cyber revolution, and make everybody suffer equally.
-PutinAmerican companies love doing this, for the data mining to the sell.
Yes they do, it’s the people who buy it that are stupid.
That’s just cruel and wasteful. Shame on the hackers.
Eh, hopefully a wakeup-call to what we have warned our bosses for the last 30 years.
Those hackers probably aren’t teenagers having fun. This is more likely part of a moronic Russian cyber attack against Europe.
They are doing their job, and waging cyber warfare. Why we (Europe, NATO, USA) keep just taking it without retaliation IDK?
It is also moronic how these system are allowed to be remote controlled, the risk of mistakes seems way greater than the cost of having a manager perform the control locally based on local observations.
Even if the routine could be fully automated with an algorithm, there is no reason why that couldn’t be local.
But it will always require human interaction to handle the content, so I simply don’t see any purpose of having these coolers connected to the Internet? If they’re Internet connected, we can have one person do it at corporate and save money! /s
Comes with internet access so manufacturers can mine data to sell.
Yes but also it seems kinda foolish to have something like that connected to the internet at all. I can see some use cases for wanting centralized visibility on infrastructure like freezers but what is the situation they would need to be shut off remotely?
Agreed. Foolish setup, no need to be networked except maybe monitoring, should be one-way data casting at most.
AI trying to starve us.
Russian hybrid war in effect
