minus-squareGhostalmedia@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5·54 minutes agoCalifornia is pretty similar if you’re going north to South… if you avoid commute hours. Then you’re looking at. 16 hour drive.
minus-squareILikeBoobies@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up1·23 minutes agoThat’s the joke. Americans say Europeans can travel 8 hours and touch x number of states but in America you don’t leave any.
minus-squareheartSagan5@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up1·4 minutes agoHop a train, and you’re in another country quick though.
minus-squareAlmacca@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·1 hour agoYou should check out Western Australia. Texas is tiny in comparison.
minus-squareheartSagan5@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 minutes agowhat’s the “highway speed” in Italy? Is it 90kph?
minus-squareTHE_GR8_MIKE@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·2 hours agoI think you can also drive in California in a straight line for 16 hours. I mapped it once during a slow work day lol
minus-squareGhostalmedia@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·48 minutes agoYeah, I5 will take you from Mexico to Canada. And that drive across CA is long as shit when you’re going north to South. And CA has some world-famous high-traffic spots around places like LA, which makes it even worse during commute hours. San Diego to Oregon is, IMHO, better done as a 2 day drive. And both of those days are still going to suck.
minus-squareheartSagan5@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up1·2 minutes agoIf you’re on the road, it’s wise to hit peak outside of urban centers.
minus-squarekerryh8er04@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 hours agoWhat’s with the dip down to Marfa? I mean, it would be dark by the time you go there, so I guess watch for the lights?
minus-squarecannedtuna@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·2 hours agoIdk tbh. Not sure why this route detoured instead of staying on the highway, but it only shaves off like 45 minutes
Meanwhile, Texas

Ok, and?
