Physicists have uncovered a hidden third form of magnetism that challenges more than 100 years of established physics. Called altermagnetism, the discovery could transform future computing and electronics while opening an entirely new frontier in quantum research.

This is why I’m skeptical whenever someone states definitively that the laws of physics prevents so-and-so.

They are laws of man about physics, and men are both fallible and don’t know what they don’t know… until they know.

“Humans will never travel faster than light because of this and this.”

    Well, okay, for now.

You can be skeptical when someone says that the laws of physics prevent so-and-so, or you can be skeptical when someone says so-and-so breaks the laws of physics. The laws of physics were built from the cases observed so far, so they are correct except for extreme cases. It takes tremendous effort to find cases not yet covered.

As for the speed of light, it isn’t a result of the laws, it’s a basis for the laws: if we assume the speed of light is a constant above which no mass can travel, then all the laws and everything makes sense (causality). Otherwise, we get nonsense (non-causality).
