If I wasn’t a parent I’d cancel it. Might cancel it anyway…
All the kids stuff on Netflix takes up like 2tb if you just host it yourself.
You can watch the same exact shows on a pirate bay or something similar. There’s a torrent of similar sites too.
It’s increasing amounts of garbage with Korean and Indian content, also as bad.
O’RLY?
Yes, because i am using open source platforms now
I finally canceled my Netflix in favor of going full Plex. They upped their subscription price for the last time and I was sick of it.
I cancelled and went Jellyfin recently. High-five friend! It was the price hike and reality slop for me.
Hard to get invested when they’re all 6 episode seasons, 2+ year breaks, and canceled after 2 or 3 seasons.
You guys are getting two seasons?
But are users who are doing this unsubscribing? Because if they don’t, maybe that’s what Netflix is aiming for. I don’t pretend to understand the way of
con artistsexecutives. It’s not hard to get people to watch. Produce good shows with actual seasons (minimum 13 episodes, preferably somewhere around 20 for certain types of shows). Then let those shows run for multiple seasons to continue to build up a fan base, so you can start to make money on merchandising. Make sure to always film a proper ending and avoid cliff hangers for the series finale to increase rewatchability. In fifteen years, you can have multiple shows that have at least 5+ seasons/100+ episodes, greatly increasing variety and rewatchability.
I haven’t used Netflix in ages, but their UI was horrible. Considering trends for the past twenty years, I can’t imagine it got better. I’ll never forgive them for deleting the reviews. Often, the Netflix reviews were the best reviews (that was not universally true).
But inevitably, they will increase prices, add more ads, then start spamming those 5+ seasons/100+ episodes shows made fully from AI slop.
Netflix was good once. It all changed once the dropped the percent positive scores now my watchlist is full of content I bailed on after 15 min.
Choppy seas ahead…
All hands to the larboard rail!
Fuck Netflix. Capitalist hell machine.
We could have free streaming via public library systems, or something else that’s not a profit driven malice, but this is the bad place.
The library app is called Kanopy (for in the US). I use it all the time
My library isn’t on there.
Try Hoopla instead.

Well yeah. You open the app and they just try get you to watch whatever they want you to watch. I want to watch what I want me to watch.
Is netflix out of touch?
No, it’s the customers who are wrong.
Maybe if they make Three Body Problem S2, 4 episodes, instead of 8, it will solve it. Or they could cancel Kaos again, or try running a washed up comedian, Im sure that will increase engagement. Actually, I think I want an Ad for my paid service, every 15 seconds. yeah. do that.
they canceled blood of zeus, Sandman, although gaiman made netflix to not continue it. Castlevania nocturne is in limbo, but likely cancelled, probably wont even hear a word from it for another 2years like with sandman.
That and autoplay everything. Are you just trying to read a blurb to see what a show is about? Nah, we’ll just start playing it for you anyway. Christ autoplay pisses me off. And yes, I have found and deselected autoplay in my profile to no effect.
You can turn that off in the Web settings for your account (per-profile in case some monster actually likes that behavior).
Whatever they do, they should definitely spend significantly less on high quality in-house-produced content.
They should definitely cancel their best top 10 shows, that’ll bring people back for sure
You forgot more AI in everything. That will bring back viewers
probably stranger things 6, for lol, but AI reverse aging the millie brown.
I thought Drake finally left her alone, perhaps not the best idea to de-age her lol
You a Masochist too? 👀
I’m still sore about them cancelling the OA.
blood of zeus was going to have better seasons, but they force the series to end.
Santa Clarita Diet :( so annoying they keep suggesting it, when its a half baked show with no end.
Inside Job’s cancellation still hurts.
grumbles in GLOW
Fuck Netflix and its practice of cancelling shows at their second season. May it crash and burn when the AI market turns.
I wholeheartedly…
Because every time you open it, it’s an assault on the senses. There’s no sense of discovery.
Ah, that’s not true! We’re discovering what will keep you paying us money, together! It’s so exciting to find that line, where we can give you just enough value that you won’t bother to cancel your subscription! What a sensational voyage of discovery!
Its just a question of time and economics that streaming will become just as awful and enshitified as cable once was.
By definition and stock valuation, this has to happen for the money invested in these companies to make sense.
Maybe they should stop cancelling shows?
