It goes to show that they know full well who their audience is. They are actively manipulating the stupid. “We’re trying desperately to appeal to the ‘school bad, football good’ morons. If only their pickup trucks could vote too.”

This response is so telling. Bluesky is fucking AWASH in comments like, “ha! how can anyone be this dumb?” “Has anyone ever been stupider?” “HEY, they said A when yesterday they said B!” Americans still refuse to look at what the far right is doing right in their faces.

This isn’t stupidity, it’s a intentional tactic. For MAGA, it’s a sycophancy test. The more absurd the claim, the more useful the test. Believing it or agreeing with it is so far from the point. It’s about ensuring the base continues to publicly demonstrate their willingness to abandon reality on command. “The more obvious bullshit we ask you to swallow or horrendous racism we can get you to defend, the more enthusiastically you will have to do it because you’d look SO WEAK choosing THIS spot to draw the line.”

For the rest of you, it’s a demoralization tactic. They’re rubbing your nose in how ridiculous they can be and STILL be an electoral threat. They know their supporters won’t abandon them, and they know that their opponents will do little more than express outrage, call them stupid on social media, and move on. “We can say absolutely anything, no matter how absurd, and you still have no choice but to treat us like legitimate opposition. What the fuck are you going to do about it?”

“The animals jump onto the solar panels and get fried,” Trump says. Not because he’s an idiot (which he IS, but that isn’t what’s on display here), but because the truth doesn’t matter when you’re not actually trying to convince anyone of anything. It isn’t about persuasion, it’s a demonstration of impunity. They’re showing everyone listening that they can make a mockery of reality, demand that their followers applaud, and force everyone else to spend their time arguing about whether the fucking animals are actually getting fried.

I was actually referring to the base, not this guy specifically. I understand that the politicians and think tanks and pundits and entire conservative system know exactly what they’re doing. Totally agree with you on all points.

The base knows too. They love how upsetting it is for the people they hate to watch them do this. Their willingness to debase themselves is fueled by spite.

Idk how sure I am of that. I know and work with a lot of people like this and they’re actually just stupid as all fuck.

His full name actually makes me feel included; it’s really not just Arabic names that are long, there are plenty of germanic surnames are quite lengthy with a double n ‘mann’. It really builds up more recognition to me than to just here two short names like firstname otherfirstnamebutplural.

I can pronounce it despite never having studied Arabic. It’s called being vaguely receptive to the people and concepts around you.

It’s not even that hard, I’ve seen names that took effort for my English and some high school Spanish speaking brain to pronounce and that’s not one of them.

“hey voters, remember when racism was OK? Yeah me too. Vote for me.”

Guaranteed to work on us. I bet my dad loves this asshole.

Michael Joseph Rogers? Why does he hide his name? Why is his name this weird? Joseph? It’s not American name, it’s middle-eastern one, and he tried to hide it? And Mike? What the hell is that, he was assigned Michael at birth, what right does he have to change it? What if kids will see it? Groomer, changing names like that.

Pretty sure most 5th grader could read Abdul El Sayed right after the first time they’re told how to pronounce it.

I met my 6 year old grandcousin on the weekend. He began primary school just 2 month ago. He told me they have a thing where a singer comes over to their school and sings in English an Japanese and the pupils have to repeat it without knowing what any word of that means in both of that languages. He could sing complete sentences in them. His pronunciation was really good and he didn’t even know what it meant.

Remember when open racism would get you a ban from social media platforms?

    Counter ad:

Mike Rogers? A name so generic it has definitely been the name of a pedophile. Are you sure it isn’t the same Mike Rogers?

    Vote Abdul El-sayed
