Do gynecologists use lubrication when doing a vaginal exam?

I can only imagine how uncomfortable an exam must be, so I would assume they would use lubrication to make it more bearable.

I would not have guessed that. I would imagine that it would make it more difficult to hold whatever partvtheyvare piercing steady.
