SOLVED-The bedroom switch needed to be forced back to OFF then all the way to ON
The panel for the Bedrm-Bathroom is curiously in the middle (not ON/OFF) and it is sticking there.
Even when I try to move it to ON it goes back when I let go. I dont think it wants to let me go back to OFF but maybe thats a normal think and someone can help brush past that…
Darkassassin and echo nailed it. Gotta go to off and then back on. If it won’t go to off, time for an electrician. Tbh, it isn’t that hard to replace a breaker, it’s just risky even if you know what you’re doing. Since not knowing what you’re asking about is fairly reliable as an indicator you haven’t got a background with electricity and wiring, don’t fuck around. I do know a little from being poor and having no choice but to take risks, and I wouldn’t do it myself as long as I could afford a pro. It just isn’t worth fucking with as an amateur
Breakers have a saftey feature where they trip internally and don’t require the lever to move. This prevents someone from jambing/tieing the lever in the ‘on’ position to prevent it from tripping.
This also means that to reset a tripped breaker, you have to move it fully into the off position, THEN move it back to the on position. The lever will typically sit in the midway position to indicate that it has tripped, and will not reset just by pushing it back to on.
If you can’t move it to off, then the breaker needs to be replaced.
You do need to go to the fully off position before it will let you turn it back on. If it won’t let you go to the fully off position then the breaker itself likely needs to be replaced.
If it flips often then either you’re charging something like a car or running an oven… or simply need to replace the fuse. Had that happen when using just a PC. Sometimes the wall can’t supply enough voltage during transient spikes and I’ve had to put my PC on a UPS to prevent it from shutting off. The wall circuit isn’t perfect like we imagine it to be.
Unplug some things until it can stay on ON.
