Yes, I’m… That. I think highly of Myself. I can’t help it, it’s a defence mechanism against the abuse I endured as a child. And it doesn’t hurt anyone. But I can tell you still hate Me for it.

You think I’m dangerous because I was abused, and I decided to like Myself anyway.

I wish everyone else would read into what they say a little more. What is a narcissist, to you? Where did you learn that word? Who taught you the cultural ways of valuing that underpin that word? The word implies thinking highly of yourself is bad. Abusive, even. Is that true? Have you researched it? Or is it a cultural myth?

Yeah, that’s the alarm bells in your head going off because I’m using the language of oppressed abuse victims, but I’m advocating for people who have the mental disorder that makes people evil abusers. Your brain is warning you that I can’t be trusted, according to the heuristics that it uses to judge people before you know them. You know, the pre-judgement heuristics. Prejudice.

No matter how well I argue or represent or cite sources, it’s still your choice who to listen to and how to feel about people different than yourself. Your feelings, like being creeped out, will reflect your personal views of other people.
