Does anyone remember the Palm Pre? It had a calendar app and if you had a large block of time without an event, it would collapse like an accordion the time so that you could see more of your day without scrolling. Are there any Android calendar apps that do that?

I’ll agree it was excellent design for that screen.

For my brain, on the tall Android screen of today, I dislike it.

      But OP does like it.

Man the Palm Pre…that was a phone I wanted to succeed so badly. It was way ahead of its time. It’s too bad the hardware was so badly designed, because the OS was glorious.

Palm was so well-positioned to still be a power player in the current smartphone market. It’s a shame that they didn’t keep up, because I always loved their UIs.

The agenda view just stacks the events one after the other. It provides a good list of events for the day but doesn’t provide a visualization of when the events are or if they’re back to back or if there’s open time between without looking at the start and end times.

In the day view of most calendars, you can zoom in and out to get a good view of the entire day, but when viewing the entire day, you lose the event details as half hour events shrink to a sliver.

I’m honestly surprised that this isn’t a more common way to show a day on the calendar.
