What happens in Finland?
UPDATE: There was apparently a similar development in 2022 according to the stats when Linux market share in Finland went up to +18 by July and then dropped sharply to 4% by the end of the year. I don’t understand that, but maybe the data is flawed? (My apologies for any confusion this may cause.)
Hmmm, the country where Torvalds is from has the highest linux desktop market share? Not that surprising, but still cool!
Still the rate is crazy. Its about 4x the European average.
This data ought to be wrong… could it be macOS wrongly reporting as linux? Cause a bunch of OSX market share just disappeared?
Yeah, it seems fishy. I find it hard to believe every 5th desktop in Finland runs linux, while only about 10% MacOS.

We call it Windokapetz in Eastern Europe. I can’t get the appropriate translation on kapetz though. Something that ends in a very bad way. 500 tons asteroid would make kapetz to your city. Boss figured out at last that you know nothing about your job? Kapetz to you.
Kaput seems related in English, maybe?
Yes, quite it. I just thought that kaput is German and doesn’t exist in English.
It is of german origin but is seeping into other languages (like English, for example).

Have heard kaput used a number of times in America. Normally when something simply stops working with little fanfare. It didn’t go out with a bang or a screech, it simply went kaput.
