A bit later than usual, but I wanted to give some space after the Direct news.

Finished Diablo IV, it was an interesting story, the cinematics were amazing, like always. Had fun playing it.

Would love to go back to it sometime in future and play with other classes.

So, I did something stupid. I started an MMORPG, when I don’t even have time for normal games.

Started Final Fantasy XIV. It’s just a trial version for now, wanted to give it a test but I got hooked, and didn’t want to play anything else.

Wanted to finish DK: Bananza, but when I started it, I just wanted to rush through it so that I could get back to FF XIV, so I have temporarily put pause on all games and just playing that.

It’s a VERY long game, so I don’t think I’ll be able to keep that pace, most probably will get back to playing other games this week or next by the max, but let’s see.

I am currently at the place where you are done with your initial quests and get access to other cities. I have also done a few multiplayer dungeons, it’s not as much of an issue as I thought it would be. Though being on console, it’s difficult to reply to others when they message, should try to attach keyboard / mouse for those times.

I have also unlocked all the possible classes that can be unlocked until this point, which is all of the crafting and gathering ones (Disciple of Hand and Disciple of Land) plus some combat and magic ones (Disciple of War and Disciple of Magic), but I am focusing on only my main one, which is a Tank. Just got them unlocked in case I am bored some time and want to try something else.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

I’ve been meaning to check out FF XIV for years, but I spent so much time of my youth playing MMORPGs, deep down, I just know I don’t have that kind of time any more. It’s just too much commitment, especially once you join any kind of guild. But I can’t bring myself to remove it from my To-Do list, either.

Anyway, I’ve been continuing with Baten Kaitos. I think I’m close to the end, but it’s hard to tell with this one. By now, I’m mostly out of topics to write about, too.

The most notable thing was a major jump in difficulty. For the most part, the game has been a walk in the park. However, this week, I fought two bosses back to back. The first one was just like the ones before them - I disposed of it within a few minutes. The second one, however, hit hard and actually healed itself. While I never actually lost, we fought for about 25 minutes before I finally won. Some of that may be due to my deck building - his healing came from his life steal, and I simply had no defensive cards at all.

Other than that, I also checked out the demo for Digimon Story: Time Stranger. It’s still janky and a lot of ideas are directly lifted from various Shin Megami Tensei games, however, I can’t help but like it. Should they release on Switch/2, I’ll probably get it eventually. But for the demo, I actually had to play on someone else’s PC.

I haven’t really played any proper MMORPG, other than some Runescape (that’s MMORPG, right?) and a bit of a free one (I think it was PlaneShift, but not 100% sure).

I don’t plan to join any guild, just play the main story. Currently I am doing optional dungeons with randoms but for story dungeons going with a team of NPCs, they aren’t as good as real people, but they are good enough to support the player.

I am still in the start though, so let’s see how things progress.

I am not a fan of enemies that heal, it’s one thing if they have a healer in team, you can try to kill it first, but someone with a skill to heal themself is just annoying, specially since they are generally not limited by amount of mana or healing potions.
