Be that as it may, there’s still usually multiple trials, judges, reviews, juries, appeals, etc. and a long stay on death row before that state violence is allowed to be carried out, as opposed to a single man determining in an instant that someone’s life has to end and carrying out the execution. Opinion on the death penalty aside, there is a difference between saying someone should receive the death penalty and saying someone should be executed.

Why list “trials, judges, reviews, juries, appeals” all of this as if it’s more than one thing that often times doesn’t work. Most of the convictions in the US are plea deals, they literally put you in a jail and tell you to say what they want or they’ll make things worse and the only way you can avoid this is to have money to make bail.

If your boss steals from your wages you have to jump through hoops to try and get it back and they don’t serve time. If you are accused of taking money from the company you are taken away by the state and put in jail till it can be proven you didn’t. You can’t expect me to trust that the system works in my favor when the system is clearly designed to not work in my favor.
