!videogames was meant to be a place to talk about video games, not a gamer identity space.
And by the way, I dislike gamer culture as much as bro culture. I specifically put “This is not a gamer identity space” in the rules, and people seemed to appreciate that.
If you’re seeing a theme here, it’s that I am against toxic masculinity wherever it exists.
Anyways, it’s all well and good. There will be another place to host something similar in good time.
