I love my smart home stuff, but it’s all locally controllable. My lights will still work with the Internet out. Now if my home server goes out not so much, but at least then it’s my own fault.
Man the hue bulbs are just so expensive though. I do have Zigbee bulbs - which is the same wireless tech as Hue. I can pair my smart switches to the lights directly so that they work without any server at all however that interferes with some things I like such as I have my lights set to be different brightness and warmth depending on the time of day. And also it makes them turn on instantly while I like a more gradual turn on.

I’ve got a bunch of those Hue bulbs. So the nice thing about those is if the internet or my network is down, I can just use the light switch.
