The Senate will vote next week on a bipartisan war powers resolution to block Trump from continuing military against Venezuela — a vote that takes on heightened importance after U.S. forces attacked the South American nation and arrested President Nicolás Maduro early Saturday.
The resolution to block the administration from engaging in further hostilities against Venezuela is privileged, which means Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) cannot stop it from coming to the floor.
The measure is sponsored by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

Don’t hurry it guys, after all, it’s not as if the child rapist just kidnapped the head of another state, without congress authorisation, making a coup and establishing a new government there…
Please, don’t stress yourselves and take your time, we all know that working on saturdays can be quite a downer!
The republican majority leader, the only who could call in the senate for a vote on this, openly supports trump doing this. They’re not being lazy, the people who care enough to bring this bill are being blocked by the ones who don’t.
Well they didn’t establish a new government there… That would take competence
Trump just stole the leader and his wife and declared the oil is “ours now”. No one knows what the fuck they means, but their VP took over control for now
Yeah, and Mango Hitler already said to Delcy Rodriguez that she will “do the right things” or she’ll end like Maduro or worse.
I’d say that’s pretty much governing a country, although not directly.
What does that mean through? We already had an insane amount of soft power over Maduro. He was desperate to stay in power… So now what?
We basically just hit Venezuela with a stick and told them to behave
Still not a coup. This is straight up kidnapping. A coup by definition is internal.
Maybe next week, waybe next month, depends on the weather and stuff.
