What would Donald Trump have to do for the U.S. media to frame what he is doing in Venezuela as an act of war?

This isn’t a rhetorical question. It’s an actual inquiry, the pursuit of which can reveal a lot about how U.S. media’s default posture is state subservience and stenography. In the past few months, President Trump has committed several clear acts of war against Venezuela, including: murdering — in cold blood — scores of its citizens, hijacking its ships, stealing its resources, issuing a naval blockade, and attacking its ports.

Then in a stunning escalation on early Saturday morning, the administration invaded Venezuela’s sovereign territory, bombing several buildings, killing at least 40 more of its citizens, kidnapping Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife from their bed, and announcing they will, henceforth, “run” the country.

And yet none of these acts of brazen aggression, violence, and violations of international law have, in any sustained or meaningful way, been referred to as acts of war, a coup, or invasion in U.S. mainstream media reporting.

Biden was wrong, he should have heavily restricted Israel in every way possible and agreed to more lenient UN Ceasefire terms, but he was advocating for peace and ceasefire unlike the Trump Admin’s official stance, quoting Pete Hegseth “Death or Exodus”.

And now that you’ve said the stuff you don’t mean, here comes the “but”

but he was advocating for peace and ceasefire

he was advocating for whatever netanyahu wanted.

unlike the Trump Admin’s official stance, quoting Pete Hegseth “Death or Exodus”.

Which is all netanyahu would have accepted. And biden was unwilling to say no to netnayhahu.

Biden reportedly swore at Netanyahu over the phone, frequently. Biden publicly blamed Netanyahu for dragging the war out. Netanyahu endorsed Donald Trump for damn good reason: because Trump was more cooperative.

The fact that you would sit here and claim both sides are equal on this issue shows you don’t care for a single Palestinian life.

I don’t care about the “behind the scenes” fanfic of biden acolytes.

Biden publicly blamed Netanyahu for dragging the war out.

While enabling it. Actions speak louder. And it’s genocide. Not “war.” Genocide denial is gross and you should be ashamed, but you lack the capacity.

The fact that you would sit here and claim both sides are equal on this issue shows you don’t care for a single Palestinian life.

Your denial of the genocide shows that you care about every Palestinian life, inasmuch as you want them all to end.

Biden was for a ceasefire! well technically if you count letting Israel mow the lawn indiscriminately with no worries of counter fire a ceasefire

Biden did everything to stop the genocide but stop giving them the tools and weapons to stop the genocide. This makes him a good guy to liberals.
