A small business owner who voted for Donald Trump recently posted a video on TikTok, pleading for help as crushing tariffs on China threatened to bankrupt his operation, which imports alloy wheels. His call for support, however, drew little sympathy from some fellow Americans.

“Votes have consequences,” he was told, with many comments from Twitter/X users relishing the notion that another MAGA voter was suffering because of their political choice. The backlash prompted a second video from the man, in which he dropped several F-bombs while criticizing the apparent heartlessness of those celebrating his hardship.

How is it any different at all? The officer isn’t the bad guy in your hypothetical. The guy being shot is. Just like when a fascist reacts to Renee Good’s murder with “well if she had just followed his orders she’d still be alive!”

Exactly like that in every last way.

        1. i didn’t say the officer was perfect, or even good
        2. i didn’t say you should tell him what he wants to hear
        3. i didn’t say if he murdered anyone, it would be anyone’s fault
        4. I believe that all cops are bastards and I believe they are wrong in literally every circumstance they are involved in. I believe there are only two good endings for cops, either they resign or die.

you didn’t answer my question, you’re so focused on being right that you can’t see how wrong you are about pretty much everything you write.

          I was exaggerating.

i didn’t say you should tell him what he wants to hear

Ok, what you honestly believe then.

i didn’t say if he murdered anyone, it would be anyone’s fault

Your entire argument is that the victim is responsible for his own murder if he says the wrong thing to the pig. Just like some bootlicker saying Renee Good deserved it.

you’re so focused on being right that you can’t see how wrong you are about pretty much everything you write.

Sorry I can’t be a cop or a bigot and therefore worthy of your compassion.

Somehow cops who kill black people for fun are needed to be listened to more than the people who want them arrested for murder.

But we’re the unreasonable ones. My God the DNC bootlickers will really listen to anyone to the right of Reagan.

I just wanted to say that your patience in the face of what looks like willful misunderstanding in this thread has been exemplary. Well done.

Thank you, I appreciate that, though I think I need to learn to disengage from these people a lot sooner, I find it really tough because I just want them to actually just talk to me as a human instead of trying to constantly fight me. It’s a little reminiscent of when you’re trying to help an animal who doesn’t understand you’re not trying to hurt it. Some people just don’t want help, or they can’t admit it.
