Alr so your account is only one month old yet within that one month you have managed to

    • Be a condescending jerk
    • Attempt to “correct” (very incorrectly) Queer people on their own terminology
    • Call people slurs
    • Use reactionary rhetoric several times
    • Clearly act in a way explicitly designed to get banned so you can complain
    • Then get banned from several comms and complain about it

You will receive no sympathy here reactionary

I will never understand how new accounts/people will just barge into communities and immediately assume they know what’s best for the community, and are shocked when they’re called out

      • Be a condescending jerk.
      • highly subjective but not my fault if you have anger issues over people disagreeing with you.
      • Attempt to “correct” (very incorrectly) Queer people on their own terminology
      • expressing an opinion that validates people’s rights to associate however they please, but that i think there’s a better way to describe it… that i don’t know what that better way is for sure, but there’s room for improvement is not “correcting queer people”… it’s attempting to talk to fellow queer people and being shut down by concern trolls. Sorry you don’t understand binary means.
      • Call people slurs
      • fuck off, tankie shill.
      • Use reactionary rhetoric several times
      • you clearly don’t know what reactionary means. I’m not being condescending, you’re just stupid so it feels that way to you.
      • Clearly act in a way explicitly designed to get banned so you can complain
      • yes that’s the conspiracy. you have identified my super plan. (my actual plan is live free or die trying)

you will receive no sympathy here reactionary

      • once again you don’t know what that word means, tankie with an autogenerated username… aka sock puppet.
you don’t speak for anyone else but yourself and all your other accounts.

The fact that you use language like tankie shill speaks more than anything you just said, your behavior and the way you talk scream shitlib and I don’t care what you claim to believe. Your account has no history, you have a million alt accounts yet none of them matter, you have no right to speak to people the way you have and expect to be platformed.

Feel free to be a reactionary jerk but don’t expect anyone to tolerate you

Eh, it’s definitely not power tripping. They explained their reasoning, gave a limited ban, and did so politely.

Whether or not the comment violated rules could be debated, but they erred on the side of caution. Since we live in a world where even a meme community can be a target for hatred and nastiness, the mods erring on the side of caution is necessary. That isn’t something I’d be willing to debate at all. Some communities just need extra vigilance. That’s one of them.

I think you’d be well served by taking this chance to reexamine what you said and how you said it. The same basic idea could have been expressed in a way that didn’t even get close to the rule, plus ways that didn’t get as close much less be so close as to be indistinguishable from breaking the rule about targeting validity of terminology.

Maybe you didn’t intend your comment to be taken as it was. I’m willing to believe that. But you do need to be aware that it sure looks like someone trying to dance around a bad faith argument in hopes of trying to play a semantics game to bypass a rule. Loopholes don’t actually exist for this kind of thing, and shouldn’t. You abide by the spirit of the rules, or gtfo. So, if you weren’t doing that, then you gotta recognize the dubiousness of the comment and accept that future participation in that or similar communities requires an extra level of thoughtfulness in constructing comments.

Edit: the title of your post here is at the least misleading, and at worst an outright lie. The screen shot included in the post shows it as originally a temp ban ,as does the mod log. The perma ban seems to have happened based on your behavior after the temp ban, which is fully on you

that doesn’t actually make sense. how would you know that’s “fully” on me?
btw, rule 7 is “mods can be arbitrary”, which they cited as the permaban reason… so quite literally, self admitted power tripping

No comment on the history but your conduct in this thread alone makes me believe the ban was justified.

they also removed 5 other respectful responses to my comment… and said they banned me to prevent “concern trolling”, which is very telling because nothing i said could be construed as concern trolling, but they themselves are doing exactly that.

i believe this mod to be disingenuous and focused on abusing trans people, under the guise of being one of them… as all concern trolls do… and they should be removed as mod.

that’s not what concern trolling even means, ffs.
            this is concern trolling:

i.e. accusing people of doing things they’re not.
me saying “people are free to associate however they want” but preferring a more accurate description is not concern trolling.
            gender isn’t binary.
being non-binary doesn’t make sense in that context.
i don’t respect the way you’re speaking to me disrespectfully.
say something other than “you bad”. explain it or you’re just flaming

you bad. You were debating the validity of a widely used term for gender expression and denigrating the use of “non-binary” as latching onto a futuristic term.

discussing how a word feels to me is not denigrating, it is expressing an opinion.
i was never debating the validity of a term, i was commenting on my own personal opinion of the aesthetics of the term… which is entirely valid and i will always respect any person’s preferences of references…
odd coincidence that binary is being used constantly in every other aspect of the world at the exact same time non-binary was popularized, don’t you think?
do you really not get that connection?

Wait, is it a coincidence that people are using words that we use?
