As the latest Guardian Essential report starkly illustrates, the party that for decades has been a political punchline with a vaudeville villain is now seen as a viable alternative for more than half of the voting public – including 45% of Labor voters and a third of all Greens.
This is an extrapolation from asking people’s thoughts on one nation. What the poll showed was two thirds of greens and 55% of labor voters under no circumstances would vote for one nation. Media then spun this as 30% of greens and 45% of labor voters support one nation. They did this to spread misinformation, legitimise the far right and get clicks because they are scum
