That’s

  • 2 positive cards from the Greens, plus 2 positive pamphlets
  • 1 letter from the Greens, masquerading as a letter from a local concerned citizen with a mix of positive and negative
  • 2 positive cards from the LNP
  • 4 negative cards from the LNP, 3 targeting Labor, 1 targeting Labor and the Greens, plus 1 negative pamphlet targeting the Greens
  • 1 positive card from Labor, plus 1 positive pamphlet
  • 2 identical negative cards from LNP-aligned campaign group Advance Australia, targeting the Greens

The bigger threat is the misguided Major Party ineffectual misguided Greenwashing policies.

You don’t need to visit The High Country to see that Feral Deer have filled the Niche that Managed Cattle previously occupied, and have spilt over into the habitats of native grazers.

If you visit the aftermath of bushfires, you will also find hundreds of closed Fire Access Trails that are not only closed to 4WDers, dirt-bikers, hunters, firewood harvesters and loggers but also inaccessible to Management and CFA vehicles, Hikers, Mountain Bikers and Horseriders due to being terminally overgrown.

In NSW and QLD, 4WDers aren’t even permitted to carry chainsaws, in case some idiot decided to cut down green or habitat wood for their fire instead of just clearing the logs that are barring the track.

It is amazing that The Greens (and a few of the Minor Parties and Independents) are pushing this platform when it should quite clearly be an issue for a Political party that claims to specialise in helping Workers.

I received a couple but only from the two majors. No texts and no public advertising either (due to SA’s new laws). Very refreshing!

When you’re next looking for a house, don’t worry about if the nearby schools are good, the property values, the parks, the shops, parking and transit, neighbours, none of that. The real secret is to make sure it’s the safest seat in the country, whether you agree with that Member or not!

(it also helps that I try and avoid giving out my phone number to companies unless really necessary, so that could be why I haven’t been getting those text messages)

  • I only got liberal and labor spam. But it was a similar amount to your picture.

The liberal candidate kindly sent me two fake postal vote application forms complete with replied paid envelopes.

I stuffed as much of the election junk mail as I could in to the reply paid envelopes and mailed them back.

The ‘handwritten personal letter’ really pissed me off. So obviously fake.

The negative card I got was very well done. Done in a nice green colour, attacking Labor. It was only if you looked for it that you could see the teeny tiny “Authorised by…Liberal Party”

I knew the Liberals were worried when they had a truck with billboard sign driving around, and then I got doorknocked by a house to house volunteer. Have never seen either before in this electorate.

It is almost as if they are emulating the sleazy real-estate agents who have so much contempt for us that they think we won’t notice.

handwritten mail in general makes no fucking sense, why would you handwrite me something if i don’t personally know you? hell, the only handwritten thing that feels sensible to recieve these days is a postcard from a vacation or a christmas card.

Where i voted there would have easily been 6 metres of liberal posters for every 0.5 metres of Labor. So much blue. Advance Australia is such a joke, liberals spent so much time complaining about GetUp having political influence, but when their patsies did exactly the same, it’s all 👍 The best vote nowadays is the person who will stall, as doing nothing is often better than most of their stupid vote buying policies. I’m almost convinced that if we left everything as is, but got rid of politicians and elections, we could pay off the national debt in a few weeks.

The Greens should know better than spamming out mailboxes with unsolicited mail.

Also using plastic single-use cable-ties to plaster plastic single-use corflutes to fences and road signs. It doesn’t seam very Environmentally conscious to me.

I still hope they get more votes than the coalition though.

Greens pamphlets are printing on recycled paper using biodegradable ink, and their corflutes are doubled sided with a different greens candidate, which eases waste.

If you’re this concerned about environmental damage, I hope you’re vegan.

You raise a good point, they could have an interesting point of distinction with their election materials as opposed the other parties. The difference in materials could be eye catching in itself.

In saying that, i have noticed the Greens in my area have a higher rate of generic Greens Party corflutes, without the candidates, so thats something i suppose.

      I despise the corflutes.

I tried having a whinge to our local council about the ones that seemed to contravene the rules but they didn’t seem to care very much, and the law is quite permissive anyway.

Sadly I think they provide candidates the best RoI. There must be a better way.

I got a card by the Labor specifically saying don’t vote greens because it could cause Dutton to if Labor doesn’t win the seat.

This may be true but if greens plus Labor have a majority over libels then they can still push back against there laws.
