It’s strange how all dictatorships have the same control freak obsessions with the same things around the world, across eras:

    • Obsession with squelching science and education
    • Obsession with denying basic reality and facts
    • Obsession with religions and cults of various kinds
    • Obsession with the population’s natality
    • Obsession with people’s sex habits and the contents of their pants

Trump’s regime, being a run-of-the-mill fascist dictatorship, is no different and ticks all the boxes.

because it contradicts everything republicans believe in, authotarian gov cant have contradictions, otherwise they fall apart easily. just like many studies have said conservatives are basically “dumber” than non-conservatives.

I don’t think that it’s really that strange at all.

      • The uneducated are easy to frighten and coerce. The educated can be dangerous in part because they will likely be resistant to the rest of the methods of control that you listed.
      • People instinctively trust people in authority, like a child believing their parents. Denying basic facts and reality lets the authoritarian create a new reality in the eyes of their subjects and keeps the people in blinders about what’s really happening.
      • Religions have always been used to control the masses.
      • People who are poor have few options open to them. People with lots of children will almost certainly be poor under an authoritarian regime. Such people also cannot effectively resist the authoritarian since doing so would put their family at risk. In essence, it gets people to forge their own chains.
      • Like religion, sex in general has long been used to control people. In fact, sex habits is one of the common tools religions use to control their devotees.

Only the women and girls. Men and boys get a free pass. One may refer to it as “penis pass.”

The religiopolitic circle doesn’t seemed so concerned with Thiel or Santos money. We have to learn to separate our feelings from issues, because not doing so leads to confusion. All the money cares about is realpolitik, and until we learn to think like them and teach our children to think like them, we will continue to happily hand them our power, then be confuzzled about how it happened, and more importantly, how to regain and keep it. The real magic is not becoming them, in learning to think like them.

Sometimes, but look at Speaker Johnson and his son, monitoring each other’s porn habits. Only the penises at the top of the religious hierarchy get the pass.
