After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue.

Never heard of EFF but 0 points for being 10 years late on this very easy and obvious decision.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation does a lot of amazing work to defend privacy and digital freedom. Just to throw one example out there, they released firmware for a low cost hotspot to detect cell snooping via IMSI catchers/stingrays.
Because they’re an advocacy group I suspect they stayed on the platform for visibility. I can half excuse orgs who crosspost to various platforms as long as they aren’t only on Twitter. But individuals do not get the same pass.
Congratulations. You’re one of today’s lucky ten thousand. :)
Once you learn about what the EFF does, and read the post, you’ll (hopefully) understand that this decision was neither easy nor obvious.
If you feel that way, donating to the EFF might be something to look in to.
Well you probably want to ear about them. Please go fix that.
