Build American AI, a nonprofit linked to a super PAC bankrolled by executives at OpenAI and Andreessen Horowitz, is funding a campaign to spread pro-AI messaging and stoke fears about China.
Each region would die on a hill denying this, but both Hollywood and SV are very similar. Both require a bit of delusion to sell a product (movie, SaaS, etc) to a small group of investors before anything can exist, investors who try to numerically diversify their portfolios, a stream of bright-eyed fresh-faced fodder people coming to town with hopes and dreams of making it big[1], and finally all of it is run by an army of burnt-out underpaid workers both in and out of The Industry.
