    I’ve lived in the Netherlands, it’s just a completely different world. So densely populated, full of historical roads that weren’t built for cars in the first place, and almost entirely flat.

    The roads where I live were just built a few generations ago with cars in mind, and fixing just a little part of my community to be walking or bike friendly would cost billions. We’re moving in the right direction with new construction but it’s slow. Maybe my grandkids will be able to bike somewhere.
