How come when I delete a post or something it shows a tiny red trash can next to it? But it's still there. How come I can still see it weeks and months later with the little trash can next to it?

Because that’s how the software works. It’s deleted for other people, but not from the database, so that you yourself can still see it in case you need it later.

Could it depend on your client? Mine actually removes them from view, but it’s worth remembering that for administrative and practical reasons, comments are not necessarily deleted but just marked deleted on the servers.

it’s not actually deleted, just flagged as “archived = 1” in the DB
