That’s not West Ham, it’s bloody Arsenal
Til what gooner means colloquially, in us and UK. Something different again in Australia if it’s still relevant today, even. Slang changes so quickly.
What does it mean in Australia?
‘Gooner’ means exactly the same as everywhere else.
‘Goon’ is boxed wine.
Arsenal fan?
Arsehole with no fans.

Ah I have wondered what the root of the nickname was, just not enough to look it up. I mostly figured it was a bastardization of Gunner
I think he meant to say ‘goner’, no?
