Congratulations Aussies, we have a Trumpette!

Australia was never monocultural and can never be monocultural. Before and during English colonisation there was a pre-existing culture on this continent which will continue into the future and will not be erased. As for European-descended colonisers, from the beginning the colony was split between Protestants and Catholics, English and Irish, ruling class and their enforcers and convicts and so on. And that’s just for starters. There has never been a monoculture. There is a monocle view which makes it simple not to think.

What are your favourite (or reviled) Pauline truisms (or falsisms)?

Same here, no idea this was done

I’ve always wanted just didge for it. Nothing else, just didge, for however long necessary. 10 seconds is enough for a sports national anthem.

Nothing else is needed, it tells the whole story.

Advance Australia Fair. I also like hearing the Kiwi anthem using Maori and English. Can’t sing that one yet though

Yeah fair, nah I can’t sing them ay, I just stay quiet

I think it might be a throwback to primary school where they made us sing it every morning

Yeah I remember having to sing at school. Funnily enough, the anthem was optional but the Lord’s prayer wasn’t; I went to a government school in the suburbs of Melbourne.
