How’s it “apologist?” No apologies here, just pointing out that we’re more alike than many here seem to want to admit. We all have good and bad sides to us. That’s not an apology, that’s fact.

That’s a whole lot of extrapolation you’re doing there. I’m not waving away anything. I’m saying America is hardly unique in being guilty of such. That you read that as apologizing for America’s misdeeds is entirely upon your biases and apparent drive to disparage.

This answer is indistinguishable from any member of the IDF, it’s pure nationalist sophistry.

Just a whole load of america is either fine actually or people are horrible beings everywhere because it’s human nature blah blah blah. It was all vaguely defensive nationalist shit.

It’s so clearly contradictory even! Actually fine, but also horrible because of human nature. Admit in an early comment they don’t know history but also attempt to argue by historical examples. How can they not notice they didn’t make any sense?

Nationalism does not promote critical thought. Nationalists get emotionally impacted by any criticism of the project their nationalist-brain is aligned with and will write anything no matter how contradictory as a defence. It’s an enormous barrier to critical thinking and the very first thing I do with people is try to remove nationalist brainworms. Even a lot of so-called left wing people suffer from various forms of nationalist brainworms, they have to be exorcised before people think critically and more neutrally. You’ve got to make people citizens of the world to get them to analyse the world fairly, if they have a nationalist loyalty it cooks their opinions.
