I think the wildest thing about the assasination was that it was a legit ice-pick(axe). Because ice-pick can refer to the pickaxe or a spike.

I thought for year it was the spike right? Makes logical sense. Mexico is hot. Refrigeration was very new. You’re going to have a spike on hand to break up frozen ice for drinks or for food or early evaporative coolers. It’s also a discrete thing you can palm in a kitchen or entry way, after being frisked to enter.

But no, actually one of the staff liked mountain climbing and just left his pickaxe lying around. Wild.
