Liberalism is narcissism. Democrats are covert about it and conservatives are overt about it.

I have no friends. I’m socially phobic and agoraphobic.

I think it’s because they see themselves and their governments as self serving and they think everyone else and every type of government must be self serving. I don’t think they are capable of understanding that people can do things for others without the expectation of anything in return.

This is something an abuser would say to their victim. “I’m not perfect but i’m the best you’ll get” is something they say to maintain control. Vilifying the alternatives so they stay with the abuser.
