China has a very different climate and landmass. The reason these companies keep trying to make datacenters in places where they’ll use all the water the residents need to survive, is because those places are the cheapest to build and opperate. Land in the desert is dirt-cheap (lol). China doesn’t have to build in the desert to build on cheap land, and so can build pretty much whereever they feel like it, including where water and electricity isn’t an issue.

Also, they’ve shown before that they don’t really have to give a shit about the lives of local residents. They probably (maybe) don’t want them to die, but relocation is always an option.

In the end we probably don’t know wether people are pissed about it or not, since we don’t get a lot of news from rural China.

I’ve been playing a lot of Project Diablo II lately. I don’t know exactly what they’ve done, but the graphics look like I remember them, but with proper widescreen and more fps. The team behind it have done an absolutely incredibly job.

We don’t really have anything in the micro class in my country. The closest I’ve managed to find was a BYD Dolphin Surf, and I wasn’t a fan.

I will never understand wanting such a large vehicle. I love My Nissan Micra, but even that feels top big. It’s seriously awesome to have a tiny car that can just be thrown sideways into a parking spot and still fit between the lines.

I generally dislike working at a shuffle. My work day is over much faster if I’m in a bit of a rush throughout. I don’t see it as me getting paid for a certain amount of work. I see it as me selling my time. Between 08:00 and 16:00, what I do during that time is up to my boss. I don’t own that time, in exchange I get my pay.

I live in a country with actual workers rights though. Might make a difference.
