Going to have to disagree on the Exorcist responsibility.

What actually sparked Satanic Panic were two things. First was the 1980 publication of the book ‘Michelle Remembers’ which was a memoir about how someone was terrorized by a satanist cult in victoria, british columbia.

And in 1983, a mother wildly accused a preschool worker of abuse with claims of having witchcraft, underground tunnels and sacrificial rituals.

The Exorcist was in 1973.

This is actually a meme template that’s been used a few times here and there for various purposes, it has a good message.

We’re glad that we haven’t or will we discover any secret that leads to immortality. Sure, we may find ways to extend our lives, but we are all destined to die. That means, taking the horrible people as well.

No, because then it’d be like in the Genetic Opera where we don’t own the parts we need to keep us alive. We’d have to pay those too, in absurd amounts. And if we don’t, we’ll just die. It’s already looking like that anyways with the “Pay or Die” system we have in healthcare.

$1 Million.

Everything I’d be paying now, I’d be good for 15 whole years. By the time those 15 years end, I’d be in my 50s. But I’d have all of the time between now and then to like, develop skills that are of use to me.
