One thing that I would add to, is I would personally also consider buying drones from Ukraine. Production capabilities in Ukraine are limited by money right now, not by physical factories and such.
And at least for ground combat right now, Ukraine’s weaponry seems to be unmatched. The war changed too much over the course of 3+ years, the old strategies don’t work anymore. Drones really excel in terms of cost and effect. Small drone boats destroy large Russian ships, to a point that none of the latter can be seen in the Black Sea.
And by spending with Ukraine, you also help them fight off the invasion that they’re under.

This is disrespectful to common sense.

The number of people KILLED in the mentioned Gulags is in the millions. The total number of killed by the regime is estimated as ~~20 million people. The number of people imprisoned in the US is just a bit north of a million.

Having a mass murderer on a picture and trying to picture it as “wasn’t as bad as the US now” is distasteful. Have self-respect, spend effort and verify the numbers. Think critically about the picture you’re thinking to upvote.

P.S. I’m not a US citizen or resident. In terms of freedoms, both the Soviet Union was terrible, and a lot of the events happening in the US right now are terrible.

Russia cannot become socialist again because it never was socialist. It’s official regime was “communism”, but there was very little socialist about it in the way Europe is doing it now.

What could also help I think, is to have a high tax for property that is not rented out. (Where nobody is registered.) If, as a landloard, you know you’d have to pay 5% of the total house cost every year you don’t have a tenant, you would be strongly incentivized to rent out.

Well the share price could’ve risen due to expectations of a worse judgement. The analysis has to be a different one. Just profit/loss.

It’s notable that the article focuses heavily on the eco impact. However, that’s only half of the story. The other half is how enjoyable cities can be when public transport complements cars and bicycles. Being on the street becomes actually nice. Your kids can bike to school themselves and not die on the first intersection. That sort of stuff. It’s absolutely amazing to live in countries/cities that mastered this
