From Snowy Hydro to Inland Rail, projects get announced early, then costs soar tens of billions higher. Yet there are proven ways to stop that happening.
Now, if our politicians could read the article! Some of the cost blowouts listed are mindboggling.
Yeah, these people can’t understand that, though. It’s just way beyond their computing power.
My uncle once tried talking about the “Solar Scam” and he kept saying “follow the money” and I said “yeah, and every single time it ends up back in the pocket of the billionaires who own the fossil fuel industry” and he just sat there with a blank look on his face like I overloaded his circuits.
Nah you’re right. Subsidy to private companies is stupid. Including to renewables.
Infrastructure should be built by the government directly - will have a bunch of money we don’t need to pay in profits, will mean continuity of knowledge because employees won’t need to keep changing jobs as projects start and finish, and save money and time in not having the government departments needing manage a slew of contractors.
The way we build infrastructure in this country is stupid, and it used to be much more straightforward when government departments actually built stuff, not just vaguely oversee things…
Blowouts are a feature of the renewable subsidisation scams. It allows people like Simon Holmes-a-court to keep stealing taxpayer dollars endlessly.
Everyone should watch the documentary “Utopia”. It’s supposed to be a mockumentary, but it’s pretty much spot on.
But the monumental fossil fuel industry subsidisation system is not a scam, right?

😆 Unfortunately a lot of people have been programmed / brainwashed and they repeat catchphrases as if these were actual explanations.
The irony is delicious.
Would you like to explain?
You’ve been brainwashed and are repeating catchphrases and propaganda while claiming others are.
So what are my catchphrases?
It absolutely is, and any subsidies for the fossil fuel industry should be stopped. Not the answer you thought you would get, is it?
I’m glad we agree. We need to stop the enormous amount of money that goes to these corporations.

100%. Any subsidy should take the form of ownership.
I cannot believe we agree on this haha, but glad that there’s at least some common ground.
Ah, you again.
