As a turk this was so fucking disappointing. Like really. This was our THIRD world cup, and every fucking time we fail to qualify because we are a mid tier team and in groups with giants, then face titans in the playoffs and get blown out.
The one time we make it, get placed into a group with other mid teams , then proceed to fail hard against places with barely any football history.
Fucking two out of USA, Australia and Paraguay should have been easy wins for fucks sake. Australia has so many other sports that people go for instead, USA has the same, and Paraguay aren’t that good in the first place.

Yeah, when Portugal itself dropped out (curiously at the hands of Spain) all the World Cup excitement suddenly cooled down a lot.
I was actually able to watch TV News again as the news went from being about football 75% of the time down to almost the usual 10-20%.
