make it explicitly call out the militaristic and fascist nature of cops and ice in society or don’t bother

Sorry Amazon, I’ll not buy that for a dollar.

They’re remaking everything and I’m over it. If I want to see Robocop I’ll watch the original.

There actually was a live action Robocop TV series decades ago. Only ran one season but I remember it being rather good.

I got around to watching Robocop 3 a couple of days ago. If you like watching terrible movies then you’re in luck.

I don’t know if the concept of a cyborg that lumbers around like Frankenstein’s monster works in 2026 when we have robots in real life that are so agile. Even the monotone voice is an anachronism when my phone sounds a hundred times better.

I was thinking “It’s such an '80s movie, I don’t know if they can pull it off” and it’s kinda what you said: it’s so much based on what was futuristic for those years, and now it’s all different.

honestly if they just kept it as kitschy and violent as it was in the 80s I’d watch it and I’m sure a lot of people would too. Just literally pick up after the first or second movie and stay the course. keep it as is. yes Robocop 3 was bad but the first one was great, the second one was alright…just keep it the same.

Don’t update it, don’t CGI the shit out of it. same suit, same practical effects, same soundtrack. I just wish more studios did this. I mean if at all possible just get Frank Miller to write it again and you’re off to the races. you can’t get anymore kitschy or violent than a Frank Miller script.

He did write Robocop 3 though. I like watching these kinds of (now old) movies, it’s interesting to see what people thought the future would look like. Now we know how it’s panning out, I’m not sure I want to see a remake that closely follows the originals.

Idk, I’ll reserve judgement until it’s in front of me but Atomic Monsters M3GAN don’t give me a ton of hope for a similar premise.

Hmmm…on the one hand I’m really curious, but on the other hand do we really need another reboot?

Wow, I hope this is good. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster generally get it right, so that is interesting!
