Lenovo has started selling the Intel Panther Lake-powered ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 in North America. Starting at $3,669, the 14-inch mobile workstation combines up to RTX Pro 1000 graphics with 96GB of replaceable LPCAMM2 RAM, while display options top out at 3K and 120Hz.
if it’s anything like other thinkpads just wait a couple years for people to put them on third party marketplaces to sell cause they don’t know what they have.
I don’t know what it is about about people who buy new Thinkpads and then sell them a couple years later for dirt cheap because they assume they’re out of date. I’ve scored like 5 or 6 thinkpads this way.
It’s end of lease business computers.
It’s business cycling through their PC leases or getting rid of 3/4 year old machines.
I usually bought Thinkpads used for my business and would just cycle them to the field techs who would destroy them after a year or two in the field. Yeah toughbooks would last longer but they were way more expensive and could still be destroyed or severely mangled.
I got a year old one with 64gb for 1k last month.
Welcome to the corporate IT refresh cycle!
Yep, I’m rocking a 2019 Lenovo today and it runs a treat!
I have a 2010 Lenovo X series that still runs fine with Linux. Great machines.
