President Trump continues to say that Iran wants to make a deal to end the war and that the U.S. has control over the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the president downplayed concerns about the conditions aboard the USS Lincoln. The only massive wars the USA ever actually won were the Civil War (against ourselves, doesn’t count) and WWII (when we had almost the entire goddamn world on our side). We got like a participation trophy for WWI. Other than that, it’s all been colonialist bullshit oppression of smaller/weaker countries, there’s never been a direct conflict with another major industrialized country.
I would argue it won the cold war, in a largely peaceful way.
