Until the 19th century, when bottomlands were drained, malaria was a problem in middle Europe too. It’s just coming back now.

If this starts affecting white people in significant way we’ll just develop a vaccine. (vaccine with 77% efficacy rate is in trials already).

In christofascist USA, it’ll likely be “god is sending plagues and famine to punish sinners.” Much like how gay people are blamed for hurricanes.

“We take no joy in the death of innocent people,” Marcavage–a former Clinton White House intern–told one reporter. “But we believe that God is in control of the weather. The day Bourbon Street and the French Quarter was flooded was the day that 125,000 homosexuals were going to be celebrating sin in the streets. We’re calling it an act of God.”

Weird how the places in the US that are most likely to see hurricanes and tornados seem to be the most religiously devout.

Yeah and now that they are booking their own flights, their CO2 emissions are going to get out of control

In the Middle Ages Malaria was a problem in southern Germany. It was a huge reason for drying up swamps all over Europe. In other words this has nothing to do with climate change.

Wasn’t their like a natural warm period in the middle ages and now is supposed to be more like an ice age? I am pretty sure it’s still about climate change.

Or rather: climate changed all the time but not at this rate and not caused by a single thing without any feedback loops any more like now.

Yes, there was a warm period where wine was grown as far east as what is now the Czech-German border. It was followed by the little ice age.

What does east have to do with that? FYI wine is still grown north of Prague, on Czech-Austrian border, in Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova, Georgia…

Malaria was whipped out in Germany in the 19th century. So no it is not climate related.
